About Us

Whale Branch Elementary School, located in rural Seabrook, SC, near the Whale Branch River, is home to approximately 400 students. In addition to the main campus that houses grades 1st through 5th, it incorporates James J. Davis Early Learning Center, located at 364 Keans Neck Road in Dale, SC. The Early Learning Center houses Pre-K and K students, along with students in Beaufort County’s Head Start program. One school, two locations!

Mission:  We equip and empower all learners by:

•Making learning visible with daily learning intentions and success criteria

•Defining what good learners know and do by teaching core learner dispositions from PreK to Grade 5

•Engaging all students in self-reflection and self-assessment

•Creating a culture of feedback where all learners seek, receive, give, and respond to feedback

•Integrating STEAM disciplines to foster creativity, critical thinking, and real-world problem-solving skills that inspire lifelong learning
